Across the Globe, We Are United in Our Dedication to Children’s Rights

Who We Are

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Nelson Mandela

The proposed project will be called NEW WAVE UMBRELLA. The project will be managed by MR. CHARLES NZIOKI, DIRECTOR.

The NEW WAVE UMBRELLA learning center aims to be established with the goal of saving and equipping street children and vulnerable slum children with knowledge and skills. These skills will focus on problem-solving, innovation, creativity, communication, and interaction within and outside the society. We believe in empowering children through access to quality education and resources that foster their growth and potential.
The learning center is planned to start with 15 children rescued from the streets of Machakos, housed in a single classroom. As the initiative grows, the number of pupils is expected to increase, leading to the need for additional classrooms and a residential home. Once operational, the center will cater to students from primary one to grade six.
The center aspires to celebrate its fourth graduation milestone, which will be made possible once all learning institutions are fully operational. A community fundraising event is planned to mark the historic journey of the center and recognize the achievements of its students. The NEW WAVE UMBRELLA project seeks to make a positive impact in Bandani slums by providing comprehensive quality education and nurturing talents in children through co-curricular activities, various projects, and vocational training in arts and innovation.

OBJECTIVES

CORE VALUES

The purpose of this proposal is to construct a two-storied building that will provide the necessary infrastructure for the learning center. The school will require a proper office for staff, toilets, a library, and a recreational hall to function effectively. Our goals include:

  • Establishing NEW WAVE UMBRELLA as a functional learning center.
  • Providing infrastructure for quality education to accommodate the growing number of children.
  • Constructing a two-storied building on the designated plot, consisting of 4 classrooms, 4 toilets, 1 office, 1 fully furnished library, and 1 well-equipped recreational hall.
  • Fencing the school area and developing a secure school compound to ensure the safety of students.
  • Providing educational materials, such as books, technology, and school supplies, to at least 10,000 underprivileged children annually.
  • Establishing scholarship programs aimed at supporting high-achieving students from low-income families to pursue higher education.
  • Organizing monthly workshops and tutoring sessions in underserved communities to enhance learning and provide academic support.
  • Collaborating with local schools, educational organizations, and businesses to create a sustainable network that supports educational initiatives.
  • Conducting regular assessments of program effectiveness, striving for at least a 20% increase in academic performance among participants over two years.
  • Empowerment: We believe in empowering children through access to quality education and resources that foster their growth and potential.
  • Integrity: We conduct our operations with transparency, accountability, and ethical practices to build trust with our supporters and beneficiaries.
  • Inclusivity: We are committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to succeed.
